PRODUCTS FAQ'S

What is Caffeine Anhydrous?

Caffeine anhydrous is a form of caffeine that has been dried into a powder. The term anhydrous means “without water.” Caffeine anhydrous if often used as an ingredient in supplemental products as a stimulant to stay awake, as a pain reliever in combination with other medications and as a weight loss or energy accelerant. Caffeine is produced from plant sources, primarily cacao beans and tea leaves. When it’s dried, it forms a white crystalline powder that is used in certain medications and supplement products. The FDA has determined caffeine to be “Generally Recognized as Safe.”Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant. It acts on the brain by blocking adenosine receptors. When adenosine binds to a cell, it slows the nerve activity, causing sleep. The caffeine molecule interrupts this activity, causing the release of adrenaline. Adrenaline keeps a person stimulated and awake. People can also become tolerant to certain dosages, and require more caffeine over time to produce the same effect.

Caffeine may be a beneficial weight loss aid for several reasons:

  • A metabolite of caffeine, called paraxanthine, increases lipolysis – the breakdown of fatty acids. Caffeine has a mild diuretic effect, increasing loss of fluid through increase in urination. Depending upon the rate of rehydration, this could also lead to a small weight loss.
  • Caffeine can decrease appetite, causing less calories to be ingested. The research on caffeine and its effectiveness on dieting and weight loss is mixed. One study found higher caffeine consumption to result in faster weight loss, but a lower caffeine intake to result in longer-term weight management. The majority of studies have found caffeine’s effects to be temporary and short-lived, so over time, its effect on weight loss is likely to diminish if no other effort is taken to reduce calories and increase physical activity.
  • Caffeine is also used in athletic performance formulas because it can increase energy needed for a workout. A study conducted in the late 1970s found caffeine to increase the long-distance performance ability of cyclists. It’s also thought to delay the onset of muscle fatigue after exercise, because it improves blood flow to the muscle tissue, bringing oxygen and nutrients needed by the cells.
  • Caffeine is often used as an ingredient in pain relievers, particularly those that treat migraine headaches.
  • Caffeine makes pain relievers such as aspirin 40% more effective. It also helps the body to absorb medication more quickly, bringing faster relief.

What Is Gymnema Sylvestre?

Gymnema sylvestre is an herb used traditionally in Asia to treat type 2 diabetes, arthritis, and help with weight management. It has a blood sugar lowering effect, partly because it helps your pancreas make insulin. This rejuvenating effect on the pancreas is one reason why this herb is in widespread use. A new animal study now supports the traditional weight loss use, showing that it can powerfully influence multiple aspects of the obesity issue. The study involved the use of a high fat diet to induce obesity, comparing control subjects, which gain a lot of weight, to those taking Gymnema sylvestre while having the option of consuming as much high fat food as they desire. The study results were remarkable, as gymnema significantly decreased body weight, food consumption, triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol Low-density lipoprotein. It is a group of lipids and proteins that allow lipids like cholesterol, triglycerides, and fat soluble nutrients (Vitamin A, D, E , K, Q 10, carotenes) to be transported with the water-based bloodstream. , VLDL cholesterol, and blood sugar.

It also boosted levels of protective HDL Cholesterol High-density lipoprotein that is one of five lipoproteins that enable cholesterol and triglycerides to be transported within the bloodstream to the liver and to the adrenals, ovaries, or testes for the production of steroid hormones. While the mechanism of action of all these benefits has yet to be identified, it is quite clear that this safe and nontoxic herb can help millions of Americans in their ongoing battle of the bulge, while working to help prevent falling into the metabolic syndrome.

What Is Vitamin B12?

Vitamin B12 is a vital nutrient to keep your body fit. Popularly known as Cobalamin, the vitamin plays a significant role in the proper functioning of the body mechanism. The primary functions played by it are to produce DNA during cell division, formation of healthy Red Blood Cells (RBCs) etc. More importantly, the B12 is responsible for energy supply in the human body. The natural sources of Vitamin B12 are Meat, Poultry, Milk and other dairy products, Eggs, and Fish. Vitamin B12 plays a significant role in enhancing the metabolic rate of the body. It acts in decomposing the fat and protein to produce energy. Thus, weight loss occurs with B12 to some extent. However, Vitamin B12 is not sufficient to treat obesity disorder solely. There are reasons behind this: Human body needs about three micrograms of vitamin B12 daily. The supplementary vitamin doses contain B12 in the percentage of hundreds. But, it is a water soluble component. So, the unused vitamin comes out of the body through urine.

The supplements we take are inefficient sources of B12. In fact, these are produced by fermentation. Even if the brands claim high percentage of vitamin contents in the labels, the body gets very little amount. By the time body finishes breaking down the supplementary dose, only a small fraction of B12 is left usable. Thus, to ensure sufficient weight loss HCG hormonal dose can be taken with Vitamin B12. The combination can do magic in the obesity treatment.

What is Cinnamon?

Cinnamon is very popular among chefs and home chefs and it has been long regarded as just a spice to sprinkle on our cookies or coffee. This popular spice, once considered more precious than gold, has been found to have medicinal properties. Cinnamon has been used in early civilization as an antiseptic. The Egyptians used it for embalming, and during the Middle Ages, it was used as aroma therapy for the Bubonic plague victims. Recently, Cinnamon is gaining popularity because of its ability to fight obesity. Let’s take a look at the benefits of cinnamon for weight loss. Cinnamon is believed to decrease blood sugar and increase insulin levels, these results have been published and documented in a respected diabetes journal. The interplay between blood sugar and insulin is intricate.

When we eat food, our bodies turn food into glucose which is the primary source of energy for our muscles and brain. When we eat excessively, a big pile of French fries perhaps, our bodies are flooded with a serious flow of blood sugar. Our bodies will react by pumping out insulin in order to combat the spike in blood sugar. This tug of war between blood sugar and insulin can determine to a large extent whether we will lose or gain weight. When our blood sugar dives low, our brain sends a signal to our body to eat, our brain thinks that we hungry–even if we just ate a heaping amount of starchy food, like French fries. If our blood sugar and insulin interplay is not checked, it can contribute to obesity among other things. Cinnamon’s effect on our blood sugar and insulin makes it a potential help in combating obesity. Cinnamon also creates heat within our bodies due to a chemical reaction. Our bodies’ metabolism then speeds up to counteract the excess heat in order to balance the temperature. This is process is known as thermogenics, and it is during this process that excess fat is burned.

What is Green Tea?

Green tea contains caffeine, which is known to increase thermogenesis (a biological process involved in burning calories). In a 2007 report from the American Journal of Physiology: Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, scientists state that green tea may fight the decrease in metabolism that typically accompanies weight loss. According to the report's authors, green tea may also inhibit the effects of catechol-O-methyltransferase (an enzyme known to trigger the breakdown of brain chemicals involved in regulating appetite). Certain antioxidants found in green tea seem to have a "small positive effect" on weight loss and weight maintenance, according to a report published in the International Journal of Obesity in 2009. In their analysis of 11 studies on green tea and weight loss or weight maintenance, researchers found that green tea antioxidants known as catechins may help increase metabolism. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) determined that epigallocatechin gallate (a catechin found in green tea) may help moderately overweight people lose weight, according to the NIH.

What is Chromium Picolinate?

Chromium is a trace mineral that your body needs to regulate your blood-sugar levels. Chromium also appears to promote weight loss by reducing your body fat and increasing your lean muscle mass. You can get chromium from eating certain foods in your diet, but you can also take a chromium picolinate supplement. Before you begin taking a chromium supplement, consult your doctor to discuss the dosage that's right for you. Chromium's main function is to normalize your blood-glucose levels. Specifically, chromium is the main component of glucose tolerance factor, or GTF, which helps your body to utilize insulin better by enabling insulin to extract glucose from your blood and deliver it into the cells for use as energy, explains the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Chromium also appears to regulate the cholesterol and triglyceride levels in your blood. As a weight-loss supplement, chromium picolinate seems to help build muscle tissues and burn fat, says the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Because of chromium's specific functions in the body, the supplement is sometimes recommended to help treat diabetes and similar conditions like insulin resistance or glucose-tolerance problems, as well as to prevent heart disease, notes the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Another popular use of chromium picolinate supplements is promoting weight loss in overweight or obese individuals. Chromium may also help to treat high cholesterol and high triglycerides, says the University of Michigan Health System. Talk with your physician before taking chromium picolinate for any medical purpose.

What is South African Hoodia?

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine explains that hoodia comes from a plant native to the Kalahari Desert of Southern Africa. The extracts from the roots and stems are used to make weight loss capsules, tablets and powders. Hoodia is also sometimes used in teas and liquid extracts. According to the Drugs website, hoodia nomadic Bushmen used hoodia to delay hunger on prolonged hunting trips. In addition, anthropologists in the Kalahari Desert noted that it possessed appetite suppressant qualities. This is due to a molecule in hoodia called P57. Scientists from the pharmaceutical company claim that hoodia works similarly to glucose by fooling the brain into thinking the body is full. They also claim that it delays feelings of hunger and reduces food interest.

What is Medicago Sativa?

  • Medicago sativa is alterative, antipyretic, anti-scorbutic, aperient, diuretic, oxytocic, nutritive, stimulant and tonic.
  • The active components include up to 50% protein, beta carotene, chlorophyll, octacosanol, saponins, sterols, flavonoids, coumarins, alkaloids, acids, vitamins (A, B, B6, B12, C, D, E, K, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, folic acid), amino acids, sugars, minerals (Ca, K,P, Ma, Fe, Zn, Cu), and trace elements.
  • Alfalfa is one of the oldest cultivated plants. Its name comes from the Arabic, al-fac-facah, “father of all foods”.
  • It has been used as livestock forage, as a highly nutritious food for humans, and as an herbal medicine for at least 1500 years. It is considered to have the highest nutritive value of all fodder plants.
  • Ayurvedic medicine used medicago sativa as an herbal treatment for ulcers, to alleviate the pain of arthritis, and as a treatment for fluid retention.
  • Early American herbalists used alfalfa herb as a treatment of arthritis, boils, cancer, scurvy, and for diseases of the urinary and digestive systems.
  • Pioneer women in America used alfalfa as an herbal remedy for menstrual disorders.
  • Modern herbalists use medicago sativa to help women with disorders related to hormonal imbalance. Due to its alterative qualities (ability to maintain normal hormonal levels), alfalfa is used as a natural treatment for disorders such as hot flashes during menopause, fibrocystic breasts, osteoporosis, polycystic ovaries, fibroids, and premenstrual tension.
  • Alfalfa may be used to treat both hypoestrogenism (insufficient estrogen and hyperesterogenism (excessive estrogen).
  • Scientific research confirms the effectiveness of medicago sativa as a natural treatment for high cholesterol. It is known to reduce low density lipoprotiens (LDL) without reducing high density lipoproteins (HDL).
  • Alfalfa has been used as a traditional herbal treatment for debility during convalescence or in cases of anemia.
  • Alfalfa has been used as a natural treatment for infections from surgical incisions, bed sores, and as an external poultice for the treatment of earache.
  • Studies have shown that alfalfa may reduce blood sugar levels due to its high manganese content. Clinical studies have shown that medicago sativa with a high level of manganese improved the condition of diabetic patients who do not respond to insulin.
  • Alfalfa contains a molecule analogue to the thyrotropin-releasing hormone or TRH. Thyrotropin-releasing hormone is common in the animal kingdom but unknown in the vegetable kingdom. The thyrotropin-releasing hormone analogue found in alfalfa has been found to be biologically active in animals, suggesting that medicago sativa may be an effective natural therapy for treating secondary hypothyroidism as well as diseases caused by an excess of prolactin, as in polycystic ovaries.
  • Scientific studies indicate that medicago sativa may have a stimulating effect on the immune system.
  • Alfalfa has been shown to inhibit the development of certain viruses, including herpes simplex virus.
  • Some in vitro studies have shown that L-canaverina present in alfalfa has anti tumor actions against certain types of leukemia in mice and a selective toxicity against cancer cells in dogs.
  • Alfalfa is one of the best natural sources of vitamin K. Vitamin K helps bones to knit by working with vitamin D and glutamic acid to activate osteocalcin. The combination of these three nutrients is essential for building bone; the body cannot use calcium without all three.
  • Alfalfa helps to keep calcium out of the linings of arteries. Atherosclerosis, or “hardening of the arteries” is a result of calcium replacing cholesterol in the lining of the blood vessels. This happens when a microscopically small amount of cholesterol becomes lodged in the arterial wall. These can form a mass that can be replaced by artery-hardening calcium. Alfalfa may help prevent the formation of calcium deposits on the arterial wall.
